Locke Street Improvements – Spring 2019
Dear Resident / Business Owner/ Building Managers:
Just a follow-up email in addition to the notices sent on August 30th, 2018 regarding the work being completed on Locke Street starting in the Spring of 2019. Locke Street from Herkimer Street to Main Street West will be receiving improved municipal services as part of the City of Hamilton’s ongoing upgrades to infrastructure including watermain replacement, full road and sidewalk reconstruction with urban braille and streetscaping. We will tender the project shortly, review contractors’ bids, and when we have specific information we will be in contact with all parties involved. If you could provide the following information regarding your business, it would aid our Contractor in maintaining service to the BIA during construction.
1. Delivery Times:
2. Delivery Location:
3. Business Hours & Off Peak Hours (If applicable):
4. Garbage Removal Location:
Construction activity will occupy the full width of the road during the watermain replacement and as a result, the street will be closed to traffic movement and parking for a portion of the construction. During the closure, pedestrian access to the businesses on Locke Street will be maintained and one side of the pedestrian walk way will remain open. Local access to the residents and emergency access will be maintained. The length and timing of this closure will depend on weather and the contractor’s work schedule. There is potential for the section between Charlton to Main to be closed from late May to early November.
We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding, as we complete upgrades in your neighbourhood. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 905-546-2424 Ext. 4084.
If you are a building owner please post this message in a location where it will be accessible to all tenants/business owners to ensure they are aware of the future works.
